1212 This bill allows certain search and rescue organizations or recovery teams that
1313 use human remains detection canines to receive anatomical gifts under certain
1414 circumstances. Under current law, only certain persons or entities, including
1515 accredited medical schools for the purpose of research or education and organ
1616 procurement organizations as custodians of a body part for transplant or therapy,
1717 may receive anatomical gifts.
1818 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
1919 enact as follows:
2020 SECTION 1. 157.06 (11) (a) 5. of the statutes is created to read:
2121 157.06 (11) (a) 5. A search and rescue organization or recovery team that is
2222 described in section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, is exempt from federal
2323 taxation under section 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code, and uses human
