13	13	statutes; relating to: permits for certain oversize or overweight vehicles
14	14	transporting forest products.
15	15	Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
16	16	Under current law, with limited exceptions, no person may operate on a
17	17	highway any vehicle or combination of vehicles that exceeds certain statutory limits
18	18	on size, weight, or load unless that person possesses a permit issued by the
19	19	Department of Transportation. Currently, DOT may issue an annual or consecutive
20	20	month permit for an oversize or overweight vehicle to transport loads within 11 miles
21	21	of the Wisconsin-Michigan state line and on specifically designated highways, if the
22	22	vehicle does not violate length or weight limitations under Michigan law (commonly
23	23	known as the Michigan border permit).
24	24	This bill adds the following highway segments to the Michigan border permit:
25	25	1. STH 70, from the junction with westbound STH 139 in Florence County to
26	26	the junction with STH 13 in the town of Fifield.
27	27	2. STH 54, from the junction with CTH S in Outagamie County to the junction
28	28	with STH 55 in the town of Oneida in Outagamie County.
29	29	3. STH 32, from the junction with STH 64 in Oconto County to Cottonwood
30	30	Lane three-quarters of a mile southeast of the village of Suring.

58	58	of Ashland to the northernmost intersection of STH 13 and Old Airport Road CTH
59	59	“C” in Ashland County.
60	60	SECTION 2. 348.27 (9) (a) 3. gm. of the statutes is created to read:

139	139	(1) Notwithstanding s. 13.096 (2), the department of transportation may not
