2023 Wisconsin Act 94
[2023 Senate Bill 488]
Legislative Redistricting
The Wisconsin Constitution requires the Legislature to redistrict the members of the Senate and
Assembly following each decennial census. 2023 Wisconsin Act 94 repeals and recreates subch. III, ch.
4, Stats., to enact a legislative redistricting plan in satisfaction of this constitutional requirement. The
plan is identical in all respects to Governor Evers’s map submission in Clarke v. Wisconsin Elections
Commission. With respect to regular elections, Act 94 first applies to offices filled at the 2024 general
election. With respect to special or recall elections, Act 94 first applies to offices filled or contested
concurrently with the 2024 general election.
Effective date: February 21, 2024
