1010 AN ACT to create 347.02 (8) of the statutes; relating to: tinting windows on
1111 government-owned vehicles.
1212 Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
1313 Current rules promulgated by the Department of Transportation establish
1414 limitations on the degree to which motor vehicle windows may be tinted. This bill
1515 provides that the limitations do not apply to vehicles owned by the state or a county,
1616 city, village, or town when tinting is necessary for the protection of personnel,
1717 passengers, or equipment.
1818 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
1919 enact as follows:
2020 SECTION 1. 347.02 (8) of the statutes is created to read:
2121 347.02 (8) If the department establishes by rule limitations on the tinting of
2222 motor vehicle windows, the limitations do not apply to vehicles owned by the state
2323 or a county, city, village, or town when tinting is necessary for the protection of
2424 personnel, passengers, or equipment.
