1414 This bill requires that a bill referred to committee receive a public hearing no
1515 later than 90 days after its referral if at least one-third of the members of either
1616 house of the legislature have signed on as cosponsors of the bill.
1717 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
1818 enact as follows:
1919 SECTION 1. 13.45 (8) of the statutes is created to read:
2020 13.45 (8) PUBLIC HEARINGS; COSPONSORS. Any bill referred to a legislative
2121 committee that has not received a public hearing shall be scheduled for a public
2222 hearing no later than 90 days after its referral if at least one-third of the members
2323 of either house of the legislature have signed on as cosponsors of the bill. For a bill
