2023 WISCONSIN ACT 116
AN ACT to create 29.001 (59) of the statutes; relating to: defining muzzle−loading firearm for hunting purposes.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in
senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
SECTION 1. 29.001 (59) of the statutes is created to
read:
29.001 (59) “Muzzle−loading firearm” means a
firearm that shoots a projectile loaded exclusively from
the muzzle.
SECTION 2. NR 10.001 (17) of the administrative
code is created to read:
NR 10.001 (17) “Muzzle−loading firearm” or “muz-
zleloader” means a firearm that shoots a projectile loaded
exclusively from the muzzle.
SECTION 3. NR 10.09 (1) (d) of the administrative
code is amended to read:
NR 10.09 (1) (d) Hunt a deer during a muzzleloader−
only hunt, such as described in s. NR 10.01 (3) (es), with
any gun other than a rifle, shotgun, or handgun that is a
firearm with a solid breech plug attached with threads
and capable of being loaded only from the muzzle muz-
zle−loading firearm.
