| 14 | + | certificate of title for a motor vehicle unless authorized by Department of |

| 15 | + | Transportation administrative rules. Current DOT administrative rules permit a |

| 16 | + | nonresident to apply for a certificate of title under certain circumstances, one of |
|---|
| 17 | + | which is if that nonresident is an insurance company that acquires ownership of a |
|---|
| 18 | + | vehicle through payment of a total loss claim. These companies may apply only for |
|---|
| 19 | + | salvage vehicle certificates of title for such vehicles. |

| 20 | + | This bill provides that an insurance company headquartered and with a |
|---|

|---|
