14 | 14 | | “Veteran" is a defined term that includes individuals who have served a specified |

15 | 15 | | period of active duty under honorable conditions in the U.S. armed forces or in forces |

16 | 16 | | incorporated as part of the U.S. armed forces. With limited exceptions, neither |
---|
17 | 17 | | national guard duty nor service in a reserve unit qualifies as active duty. |
---|
18 | 18 | | This bill creates a definition of “veteran" that includes any person who is a |
---|
19 | 19 | | former member of the U.S. armed forces, a reserve unit of the U.S. armed forces, or |
---|
20 | 20 | | the national guard and who was discharged under honorable conditions. This |
---|
21 | 21 | | definition applies only for the purpose of enabling such a person to indicate on his |
---|
22 | 22 | | or her operator's license or identification card that he or she is a veteran and does |
---|
23 | 23 | | not apply to any other veteran benefit. |
