1010 Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
1111 Under current law, a licensed chiropractor may, under certain circumstances,
1212 delegate to chiropractic technicians or certain other health care professionals the
1313 performance of services that are preparatory or complementary to the practice of
1414 chiropractic, including taking and preparing preliminary patient histories or
1515 providing physiotherapy treatment. This bill allows licensed chiropractors to
1616 delegate the performance of these services to individuals who have completed a
1717 training program for medical assistants accredited by the National Commission for
1818 Certifying Agencies, a national or state medical association, or another entity
1919 approved by the Chiropractic Examining Board.
2020 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
2121 enact as follows:
2222 SECTION 1. 446.02 (7) (a) 3. of the statutes is created to read:
2323 446.02 (7) (a) 3. An individual who has completed a training program for
2424 medical assistants accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies,

3434 SECTION 2. 446.026 (1) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
3535 446.026 (1) (a) No person may provide adjunctive services unless the person
3636 is a chiropractic technician or is described under s. 446.02 (7) (a) 3. and is under the
3737 direct, on-premises supervision of a chiropractor licensed under this chapter, or the
3838 person is a health care professional, subject to s. 446.02 (7).
3939 SECTION 3.0Effective date.
4040 (1) This act takes effect on the first day of the 4th month beginning after
4141 publication.
