1111 AN ACT to amend 196.374 (3) (b) 2. of the statutes; relating to: funding of the
1212 Focus on Energy program.
1313 Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
1414 This bill makes changes to the funding of statewide energy efficiency and
1515 renewable resources programs, known as Focus on Energy, that current law requires
1616 investor-owned electric and natural gas utilities to fund. Under the bill, the Public
1717 Service Commission must require those utilities to spend 2.4 percent of their annual
1818 operating revenues derived from retail sales to fund Focus on Energy and related
1919 programs. Under current law, the amount those utilities must spend is 1.2 percent
2020 of their annual operating revenues derived from retail sales.

2323 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
2424 enact as follows:
2525 SECTION 1. 196.374 (3) (b) 2. of the statutes is amended to read:
2626 196.374 (3) (b) 2. The commission shall require each energy utility to spend 1.2
2727 2.4 percent of its annual operating revenues derived from retail sales to fund the
