1111 AN ACT to create 16.973 (17) of the statutes; relating to: information technology
1212 accessibility standards and granting rule-making authority.
1313 Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
1414 This bill requires the Department of Administration to promulgate rules
1515 establishing state agency information technology accessibility standards for
1616 individuals with disabilities consistent with the most recent web content
1717 accessibility guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium Web
1818 Accessibility Initiative or its successor. The bill further provides that the
1919 information technology accessibility standards established by DOA apply to all
2020 websites of the legislature and the courts.

2323 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
2424 enact as follows:
2525 SECTION 1. 16.973 (17) of the statutes is created to read:
2626 16.973 (17) Promulgate rules establishing agency information technology
2727 accessibility standards for individuals with disabilities consistent with the most
2828 recent web content accessibility guidelines published by the World Wide Web
