Ratification of UW-Madison
Building Trades Crafts Collective
Bargaining Agreement
2023 Wisconsin Act 92 ratifies the 2023-24 fiscal year agreement between the University of Wisconsin
(UW)-Madison and the Wisconsin State Building Trades Negotiating Committee on behalf of the UW-
Madison building trades crafts collective bargaining unit. The Joint Committee on Employment
Relations unanimously approved the agreement and recommended ratification by the Legislature.
The agreement for the UW-Madison building trades crafts employees provides a general wage
adjustment increase of four percent, which is within the increase in the Consumer Price Index for the
covered period. The general wage adjustment takes effect the first pay period following ratification.
The agreement includes a lump sum payment for employees in pay status on the date the adjustment
takes effect, for hours in pay status from July 2, 2023, to enactment of the adjustment.
The agreement does not address any other factor or condition of employment.
Effective date: February 4, 2024
