Current law requires that a county provide notice to each landowner within the proposed district when creation of a district is proposed. Current law also requires the district board to provide notice of the district’s annual meeting to electors in the district, and to provide notice to property owners within the district of any proposed and final assessment the district levies. Under current law, all of these notices must be made by mail. The bill allows each notice to be made by mail or e-mail. ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1 Assembly Amendment 1 provides that e-mail notices may only be provided to electors and property owners who have agreed to receive e-mail notices. BILL HISTORY Representative Krug offered Assembly Amendment 1 to Senate Bill 85 on November 3, 2023.
