55 January 26, 2024 - Introduced by Senator FEYEN, cosponsored by Representatives
66 MOSES, ROZAR, MACCO, WICHGERS, S. JOHNSON and SUBECK. Referred to
77 Committee on Insurance and Small Business.
88 AN ACT to repeal 146.905 of the statutes; relating to: reducing or eliminating
99 coinsurance and deductibles for health care expenses.
1010 Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
1111 Under current law, a health care provider is prohibited from reducing or
1212 eliminating, or offering to reduce or eliminate, coinsurance or a deductible of an
1313 individual covered under a health insurance policy that is required under the terms
1414 of the policy, unless paying the amount would be an undue financial hardship to the
1515 individual. This bill eliminates that prohibition.
1616 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
1717 enact as follows:
1818 SECTION 1. 146.905 of the statutes is repealed.
