| 16 | 16 | | Current law defines “habitual truant” as a pupil who is absent from school without |

| 17 | 17 | | an acceptable excuse for part or all of five or more days during a school semester. The |

| 18 | 18 | | bill specifies that this information may not be used to evaluate a school's performance |

| 19 | 19 | | or school district's improvement. |
