53 | 53 | | Whereas, parents across Wisconsin choose public school open enrollment, with |

54 | 54 | | over 71,000 students statewide transferring from one public school district to |

56 | 56 | | Whereas, nearly 30,000 Wisconsin students are homeschooled; and |

57 | 57 | | Whereas, 72 percent of Wisconsin parents enroll their children in their resident |
---|
58 | 58 | | public school, while the remaining 28 percent choose a different option based on what |
---|
59 | 59 | | works best for each child and family; and |

60 | 60 | | Whereas, choice schools see significant success in student achievement and are |
---|
61 | 61 | | regularly lauded as innovators in education; and |

62 | 62 | | Whereas, all of these options provide parents with more educational |

63 | 63 | | opportunities and a variety of pathways to consider; now, therefore, be it |

64 | 64 | | Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin |
---|
65 | 65 | | Legislature hereby declares January 21 to 27, 2024, School Choice Week and |
---|
66 | 66 | | encourages Wisconsin families to discover more about the different educational |
---|
67 | 67 | | options available to them in our great state. |
