13 | 13 | | Relating to: designating the month of March as Endosalpingiosis Awareness |
---|
14 | 14 | | Month. |
---|
15 | 15 | | Whereas, Endosalpingiosis is a rare disease that primarily affects women |
---|
16 | 16 | | between the ages of 20 to 49 years; and |
---|
17 | 17 | | Whereas, Endosalpingiosis is characterized by the presence of tubal |
---|
18 | 18 | | epithelium outside of the fallopian tube; and |
---|
19 | 19 | | Whereas, the prevalence of Endosalpingiosis is difficult to establish, since it is |
---|
20 | 20 | | diagnosed only through surgical biopsy; and |
---|
21 | 21 | | Whereas, common symptoms of Endosalpingiosis include pelvic pain, |
---|
22 | 22 | | infertility, menstrual irregularities, and dyspareunia, along with chronic back pain |
---|
23 | 23 | | being reported as a common issue years before diagnosis; and |
---|
24 | 24 | | Whereas, some of the biggest issues that patients face are uncertainty about |
---|
25 | 25 | | how the condition develops and a lack of doctors who specialize in Endosalpingiosis; |
---|
26 | 26 | | and |

---|
42 | 42 | | Whereas, there is currently no cure or known treatment for Endosalpingiosis, |
---|
43 | 43 | | and there is little research being done to better understand the disease, so |
---|
44 | 44 | | increasing awareness and educating the public is vital to supporting those |
---|
45 | 45 | | impacted by Endosalpingiosis in our state; and |
---|
46 | 46 | | Whereas, nonprofit groups such as Endosalpingiosis Foundation are working |
---|
47 | 47 | | tirelessly to provide a much-needed support system for those who have been |
---|
48 | 48 | | diagnosed and to continue to raise awareness and funding for research; and |
---|
49 | 49 | | Whereas, Endosalpingiosis Awareness Month gives Wisconsin residents the |
---|
50 | 50 | | opportunity to learn more about this condition and increase the resources and |
---|
51 | 51 | | support available; now, therefore, be it |
---|
52 | 52 | | Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the month of |
---|
53 | 53 | | March shall be designated as Endosalpingiosis Awareness Month. |
