15	15	Relating to: proclaiming the week of April 28 to May 2, 2025, as School Nutrition
16	16	Professionals Appreciation Week.
17	17	Whereas, school nutrition professionals are highly skilled professionals with a
18	18	wide array of duties that support students in all aspects of education, including
19	19	preparing and serving food, complying with federal regulations, and managing the
20	20	dietary restrictions of students; and
21	21	Whereas, school meals are an integral part of a school day, and school
22	22	nutrition professionals care deeply about the foods that students eat, work to
23	23	procure locally sourced foods when possible, and spend significant time preparing
24	24	menus to make sure that students have the nutritious foods they need to learn and
25	25	grow; and
26	26	Whereas, school nutrition professionals care deeply about and are committed
27	27	to the health and well-being of students across Wisconsin, forming special

42	42	relationships with students and showing them their care through the meals they
43	43	serve; and
44	44	Whereas, school nutrition professionals teach kids how to select a complete
45	45	meal, encourage them to take fruits and vegetables, and teach kids healthy eating
46	46	habits that last a lifetime; and
47	47	Whereas, the service and environment that school nutrition professionals
48	48	provide to students is the closest part of the school day students have to their home
49	49	life and can be the most comforting aspect of the school day that students have; and
50	50	Whereas, school nutrition professionals work in a fast-paced, labor-intensive
51	51	environment that is physically and emotionally taxing, and their commitment and
52	52	dedication to the well-being of Wisconsin[s students often go underappreciated;
53	53	now, therefore, be it
54	54	Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of
55	55	the Wisconsin Legislature recognize April 28 to May 2, 2025, as School Nutrition
56	56	Professionals Appreciation Week; and, be it further
57	57	Resolved, That the legislature calls upon the people of Wisconsin to express
58	58	their honor, affirmation, love, respect, and gratitude to school nutrition
59	59	professionals everywhere; and, be it further
60	60	Resolved, That the assembly chief clerk shall transmit copies of this
61	61	resolution to the governor of Wisconsin.
