Relating to: congratulating the Milwaukee Rufus King Cheer and Stunt Team on their double state championship win in 2025. Whereas, on February 22, 2025, the Milwaukee Rufus King Cheer and Stunt Team ended their 2025 season by competing in the Wisconsin Association of Cheer and Pom Coaches (WACPC) championship competition; and Whereas, the Milwaukee Rufus King Cheer and Stunt Team defeated all other teams to become the first-place champions in the Non-Tumble division; and Whereas, the Milwaukee Rufus King Cheer and Stunt Team defeated all other teams to become the first-place champions in the Cheer Dance division; and Whereas, this is the first time in the history of MPS athletics that two cheer championships were obtained in the same season; and Whereas, the team was led by head coach Olivia Raasch, Ryonna Hendricks, Kydra Johnson, and Destiny Tillman; and 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 2025 - 2026 Legislature - 2 - LRB-2819/1 CMH:cjs Whereas, the team was the only Milwaukee public school to advance to state and win two championships; and Whereas, the Rufus King Cheer and Stunt Team had an undefeated season including eight first place wins and a Grand Championship title; and Whereas, the Milwaukee Rufus King Cheer and Stunt Team has now won six state championships, including the last four in a row; now, therefore, be it Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the Wisconsin Legislature congratulate the Rufus King Cheer and Stunt Team and their coaches on their victory on February 22, 2025, and thank them for their determination, perseverance, and talent.
