15	15	Relating to: recognizing the United States Army[s 250th birthday.
16	16	Whereas, older than the nation it defends, the U.S. Army was established on
17	17	June 14, 1775, and this year marks 250 years of continuous defense of the nation;
18	18	and
19	19	Whereas, as we celebrate the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army, we reflect on its
20	20	rich history and legacy of service, sacrifice, and dedication; and
21	21	Whereas, from the Revolutionary War to present-day missions, our soldiers
22	22	have consistently demonstrated their resolve to defend freedom at home and
23	23	abroad; and
24	24	Whereas, for 250 years, U.S. Army soldiers, families, and Army civilians have
25	25	supported our nation, bearing true faith and allegiance to the country, the U.S.
26	26	Constitution, and the Army; and
27	27	Whereas, America[s Army is the largest of the armed services, consisting of

42	42	more than 1.2 million people across the globe who defend our country every day;
43	43	and
44	44	Whereas, today's Army stands ready to meet any challenge and will continue
45	45	to adapt and modernize to remain the most lethal ground force in the world; and
46	46	Whereas, more than 10,000 Army soldiers and civilians are currently
47	47	stationed or working in Wisconsin, and more than 100,000 Army veterans call
48	48	Wisconsin home; and
49	49	Whereas, since it was established in 1909, U.S. Army Garrison Fort McCoy
50	50	has played a crucial role in our nation[s defense and growth as a nation, both as a
51	51	mobilization and training site for military personnel and as a select location for
52	52	housing displaced persons; and
53	53	Whereas, Fort McCoy is the only U.S. Army installation in Wisconsin, has a
54	54	local and regional economic impact of nearly $1.4 billion, and remains one of
55	55	Monroe County[s largest employers; and
56	56	Whereas, each Army soldier serves according to the Army Values of loyalty,
57	57	duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage; and
58	58	Whereas, Army soldiers and civilians will continue to maintain the trust and
59	59	confidence of the American people while adding to the proud legacy of the Army;
60	60	and
61	61	Whereas, Wisconsin honors and appreciates its Army soldiers, civilians, and
62	62	veterans and their legacy of brave service to our state and nation as a whole; now,
63	63	therefore, be it
64	64	Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
