1010 AN ACT to create 66.0601 (1) (d) of the statutes; relating to: local guaranteed

1313 This bill prohibits a political subdivision from expending moneys of the
1414 political subdivision for the purpose of making payments to individuals under a
1515 guaranteed income program. XGuaranteed income programY is defined under the
1616 bill to mean a program under which individuals are provided with regular periodic
1717 cash payments that are unearned and that may be used for any purpose. Programs
1818 under which an individual is required to perform work or attend training are not
1919 Xguaranteed income programsY under the bill.
2020 The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
2121 enact as follows:
2222 SECTION 1. 66.0601 (1) (d) of the statutes is created to read:
2323 66.0601 (1) (d) Guaranteed income program. 1. In this paragraph:
2424 a. XGuaranteed income programY means a program under which individuals

3838 b. XPolitical subdivisionY means a city, village, town, or county.
3939 2. No political subdivision may expend moneys of the political subdivision,
4040 including shared revenue payments under subch. I of ch. 79, moneys raised by
4141 levying taxes, or fee revenues, for the purpose of making payments to individuals
4242 under a guaranteed income program.
