10	10	AN ACT to amend 165.96 (intro.), (2), (4), (5), (8), (9), (10), (11), (12) and (13); to
11	11	create 165.96 (16) and (17) of the statutes; relating to: grants to child
12	12	advocacy centers.
13	13	Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
14	14	Under current law, the Department of Justice must provide $17,000 in each
15	15	fiscal year to specified child advocacy centers for education, training, medical
16	16	advice, and quality assurance activities. This bill instead provides that DOJ must
17	17	award grants in each fiscal year to specified child advocacy centers to enhance the
18	18	multidisciplinary response to suspected child maltreatment. The bill adds two
19	19	centers as recipients, the Lakeshore Regional Child Advocacy Center in Sheboygan
20	20	County and Child Advocacy Centers of Wisconsin, and updates the names of the
21	21	centers that are designated recipients under current law.

33	33	SECTION 1. 165.96 (intro.), (2), (4), (5), (8), (9), (10), (11), (12) and (13) of the
34	34	statutes are amended to read:
35	35	165.96 Child advocacy grants. (intro.) Beginning in fiscal year 2011-2012,
36	36	from From the appropriation under s. 20.455 (5) (ke), the department of justice
37	37	shall in each fiscal year provide $17,000 to award grants to each of the following
38	38	child advocacy centers for education, training, medical advice, and quality
