13	13	Relating to: proclaiming the week of April 28 to May 2, 2025, as School Nutrition
14	14	Professionals Appreciation Week.
15	15	Whereas, school nutrition professionals are highly skilled professionals with a
16	16	wide array of duties that support students in all aspects of education, including
17	17	preparing and serving food, complying with federal regulations, and managing the
18	18	dietary restrictions of students; and
19	19	Whereas, school meals are an integral part of a school day, and school
20	20	nutrition professionals care deeply about the foods that students eat, work to
21	21	procure locally sourced foods when possible, and spend significant time preparing
22	22	menus to make sure that students have the nutritious foods they need to learn and
23	23	grow; and
24	24	Whereas, school nutrition professionals care deeply about and are committed
25	25	to the health and well-being of students across Wisconsin, forming special

40	40	relationships with students and showing them their care through the meals they
41	41	serve; and
42	42	Whereas, school nutrition professionals teach kids how to select a complete
43	43	meal, encourage them to take fruits and vegetables, and teach kids healthy eating
44	44	habits that last a lifetime; and
45	45	Whereas, the service and environment that school nutrition professionals
46	46	provide to students is the closest part of the school day students have to their home
47	47	life and can be the most comforting aspect of the school day that students have; and
48	48	Whereas, school nutrition professionals work in a fast-paced, labor-intensive
49	49	environment that is physically and emotionally taxing, and their commitment and
50	50	dedication to the well-being of Wisconsin[s students often go underappreciated;
51	51	now, therefore, be it
52	52	Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the members of
53	53	the Wisconsin Legislature recognize April 28 to May 2, 2025, as School Nutrition
54	54	Professionals Appreciation Week; and, be it further
55	55	Resolved, That the legislature calls upon the people of Wisconsin to express
56	56	their honor, affirmation, love, respect, and gratitude to school nutrition
57	57	professionals everywhere; and, be it further
58	58	Resolved, That the senate chief clerk shall transmit copies of this resolution
59	59	to the governor of Wisconsin.
