HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 77

Requesting the Division of Highways name bridge number: (55A106), (37.69680, -81.52925), locally known as the Laurel Fork Bridge, carrying Mabel Street over Glen Fork in Wyoming County, the "Jim Sigmon Family Memorial Bridge."

Whereas, James "Jim" Sigmon, Jr., was born August 20, 1964, in Beckley, West Virginia, to James Norman, Sr. and Betty Gail Sigmon; and

Whereas, Jim was a 1983 graduate of Oceana High School and a 1992 graduate of Southern WV Community and Technical College; and

Whereas, Jim worked as a salesman at various car dealerships in Beckley, West Virginia, where he made and cared for many dear friends; and

Whereas, Jim was an active member of the Republican Party and held the office of President of the Wyoming County Republican Committee in the 1990s; and

Whereas, Jim was a Godly man who expressed his love for the Lord through music ministry; and

Whereas, Jim was a lifelong member of Matheny Methodist Church, a devoted family man, wonderful husband to Karen Cline Sigmon, and loving father to Molly Sigmon-Toney and Chloe Sigmon; and

Whereas, Jim received his heavenly healing and went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2015; and

Whereas, It is fitting that an enduring memorial be established to commemorate James "Jim" Sigmon, Jr. and his contributions to our state and country; therefore, be it 

Resolved by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to name bridge number: (55A106), (37.69680, -81.52925), locally known as the Laurel Fork Bridge, carrying Mabel Street over Glen Fork in Wyoming County, the "Jim Sigmon Family Memorial Bridge"; and, be it 

Further Resolved, That the Division of Highways is hereby requested to have made and be placed signs at both ends identifying the bridge as the "Jim Sigmon Family Memorial Bridge"; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk of the House is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Commissioner of the Division of Highways.
