                            SENATE RESOLUTION 27

Congratulating the Taylor County Middle school football team for winning the 2024 Mid-8 Championship.

Whereas, The Taylor County Middle school football team created history on October 30, 2024, when the Knights claimed their first ever Mid-8 Championship in a 54-20 win; and

Whereas, The Taylor County Middle school football team had a remarkable year on the gridiron resulting in a 9-0 season that qualified them for the Mid-8 Championship playoffs where they won making it the first win in the school’s 31-year program history following a previous three-year attempt for the championship; and

Whereas, The Knights football team is led by head coach Bobby Beltner who credits the success to all the players through their hard work and perseverance, and the dedication of the volunteer coaching staff which includes Sam Jones, Junior Lambert, Jamen Summers, Keith Hodges, Anthony Forte, Brian Lough, Cameron Forte, and Jaron Freeman; and

Whereas, Head coach Bobby Beltner is to be commended for his firm belief in the value of the program and keeping each player encouraged and engaged to help them benefit from the value of belonging to a team; and

Whereas, The 2024 Knights football team is a shining example to all West Virginians of what can be accomplished with dedication, commitment, and teamwork, and will be remembered as one of the best teams ever assembled in West Virginia middle school football history; therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate hereby congratulates the Taylor County Middle School Knights for winning the 2024 Mid-8 Championship; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Senate commends the team and the coaches for their unwavering determination and grit for their outstanding accomplishment; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Clerk is hereby directed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Taylor County Middle School football team.
