W.S. 11-14-119 is created to read: 10 11 12 13 14 2025STATE OF WYOMING25LSO-05162HB01501 (a) Meat processors that are licensed federally or by 2 the state shall be permitted to compost nonedible portions 3 of processed animals from their processing plants, 4 excluding specified risk materials, and distribute the 5 composted material as fertilizer, soil amendment or soil 6 conditioner. 7 8 (b) Meat processors that distribute their compost as 9 fertilizer, soil amendment or soil conditioner shall 10 register the fertilizer, soil amendment or soil conditioner 11 with the department of agriculture pursuant to W.S. 12 11-14-104 and follow any other requirements for 13 distributing commercial fertilizer, soil amendment or soil 14 conditioner under W.S. 11-14-101 through 11-14-118. 15 16 (c) As used in this section, "specified risk 17 materials" means: 18 19 (i) The brain, skull, eyes, trigeminal ganglia, 20 spinal cord, vertebral column (excluding the vertebrae of 21 the tail, the transverse processes of the thoracic and 22 lumbar vertebrae, and the wings of the sacrum), and dorsal 2025STATE OF WYOMING25LSO-05163HB0150 1 root ganglia from cattle thirty (30) months of age and 2 older; and 3 4 (ii) The distal ileum of the small intestine and 5 the tonsils from all cattle. 6 7. W.S. 11-14-103(a)(xxv) is amended to read: 8 9 10 11 (a) As used in this act: 12 13 (xxv) "This act" means W.S. 11-14-101 through 1411-14-119. 15 16This act is effective July 1, 2025. 17 18 (END)
