A BILL
for
1 AN ACT relating to elections; specifying when an employee
2 is entitled to take time off of work to vote in an
3 election; increasing the amount of time that an employee is
4 entitled to take off of work to vote; making a conforming
5 amendment; and providing for an effective date.

13 (a) Any person entitled to vote at any primary or
14 general election or special election to fill a vacancy in 2025STATE OF WYOMING25LSO-06422HB0178
1 the office of representatives in the congress of the United
2 States is, on the day of election
3, entitled to absent
4 himself from any service or employment in which he is then
5 engaged or employed for a period of
6 being at the
7 convenience of the employer,

10 because of so absenting himself, lose any pay, providing he
11 actually casts his legal vote.

13 (b) This section shall not apply to an employee who
14 has three (3) or more consecutive nonworking hours during
15 the time the polls are open on the day of the election.
