2424 14 2025STATE OF WYOMING25LSO-06912HB02761 (a) Each county sheriff, in consultation with the
2525 2 board of county commissioners, shall negotiate the terms of
2626 3 and enter into a written agreement between the county and
2727 4 the United States attorney general or department of
2828 5 justice, as provided by 8 U.S.C. § 1357(g), for the
2929 6 enforcement of federal immigration and customs laws,
3030 7 detentions, removals and investigations in Wyoming. The
3131 8 agreement shall be signed by the sheriff and the board of
3232 9 county commissioners or as otherwise required by the
3333 10 appropriate federal agency.

3535 12 (b) Not later than October 1, 2025 and each October 1
3636 13 thereafter, each county sheriff shall report to the Wyoming
3737 14 attorney general on:

3939 16 (i) The status of negotiations with the United
4040 17 States attorney general and the status of any agreement
4141 18 entered into under 8 U.S.C. § 1357(g);

4343 20 (ii) Whether the United States attorney general
4444 21 has declined to enter into an agreement with the county
4545 22 under 8 U.S.C. § 1357(g) and the reasons for declining;

4747 2 declined to enter into an agreement with the county, the
4848 3 county's communication and cooperation with the United
4949 4 States attorney general under 8 U.S.C. § 1357(g).

5151 6 (c) Not later than November 1, 2025 and each November
5252 7 1 thereafter, the attorney general shall report to the
5353 8 joint judiciary interim committee on the information that
5454 9 each county sheriff communicated to the Wyoming attorney
5555 10 general under subsection (b) of this section.

5757 12 (d) A county that fails to enter or fails to attempt
5858 13 to enter into an agreement required by subsection (a) of
5959 14 this section shall not be eligible to receive any state
6060 15 administered federal funds associated with law enforcement
6161 16 and law enforcement training for each fiscal year in which
6262 17 the county is not in compliance with subsection (a) of this
6363 18 section. A county that has reported to the Wyoming attorney
6464 19 general that the United States attorney general has
6565 20 declined to enter into an agreement under 8 U.S.C. §
6666 21 1357(g) shall not be subject to this subsection.

6868 2 completion of all acts necessary for a bill to become law
6969 3 as provided by Article 4, Section 8 of the Wyoming
7070 4 Constitution.
