1 AN ACT relating to children; requiring a written
2 acknowledgement in a voluntary termination of parental
3 rights as specified; and providing for an effective date.

7. W.S. 14-2-320 is created to read:

12 (a) Any voluntary termination of parental rights,
13 whether through a petition or agreement, shall include a
14 written acknowledgement from the parent who is voluntarily
15 terminating parental rights that the termination of 2025STATE OF WYOMING25LSO-05792HB0336
1 parental rights may not terminate, suspend or otherwise
2 affect any existing or future child support obligations.

4 (b) The acknowledgement required under subsection (a)
5 of this section shall be signed by the parent who is
6 voluntarily terminating their parental rights and shall be
7 made part of the official record in any proceeding related
8 to the termination.

10 (c) Nothing in this section shall be construed to
11 limit the ability of a court to modify, enforce or
12 terminate child support obligations in accordance with
13 applicable law.
