A JOINT RESOLUTION
for
1 A JOINT RESOLUTION to recognize and commend the National
2 Conference of State Legislatures on the 50th anniversary of
3 its founding in 2025.

5 WHEREAS, the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL)
6 was founded in 1975 and has evolved during the past half-
7 century to become the premier organization solely dedicated
8 to serving state and territorial legislators and legislative
9 staff; and
10
11 WHEREAS, NCSL was created from the merger of three (3)
12 organizations that served or represented state legislatures 2025STATE OF WYOMING25LSO-0759

1 and that shared the belief that legislative service is one of
2 democracy's worthiest pursuits; and
3
4 WHEREAS, NCSL is a bipartisan organization with three (3)
5 objectives: to advance the effectiveness, independence and
6 integrity of state legislatures; to foster interstate
7 communication and cooperation; and to ensure states have a
8 strong, cohesive voice in the federal system; and
9
10 WHEREAS, our nation's state legislatures are America's
11 laboratories of democracy and have continually shown that
12 they are the bodies best able to tackle emerging challenges;
13 and
14
15 WHEREAS, state legislatures are where people from different
16 backgrounds and representing different communities can come
17 together and find common ground; and
18
19 WHEREAS, NCSL has facilitated the exchange of ideas, provided
20 critical research and information and encouraged a rigorous
21 review of complex issues confronting our communities, states
22 and nation; and

1 WHEREAS, NCSL strives to strengthen the bonds between
2 America's legislatures and the international community.

7That the members of the Wyoming Legislature
8 recognize and commend the National Conference of State
9 Legislatures on the 50th anniversary of its founding in 2025
10 and for their superb leadership and commitment to the
11 legislative institution.

13That the Secretary of State of Wyoming
14 transmit copies of this resolution to Wyoming's Congressional
15 Delegation and to the Chief Executive Officer of the National
16 Conference of State Legislatures.
