2525 Recognizing and honoring the 50th anniversary of The Energy Council. 1
2626 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF ALASKA: 2
2727 WHEREAS The Energy Council is celebrating its 50th anniversary; and 3
2828 WHEREAS the provision of reliable and consistent energy is critical to achieving 4
2929 economic stability and ensuring global security, and a steady supply of oil and gas is 5
3030 instrumental in meeting consumer demands and safeguarding energy independence; and 6
3131 WHEREAS The Energy Council was established in 1975 as a nonpartisan forum for 7
3232 legislators from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico to engage in 8
3333 dialogue and to collaborate on energy policy that was pertinent to constituents; and 9
3434 WHEREAS The Energy Council has since expanded to include 14 member states and 10
3535 the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, thereby enriching the discourse on state 11
3636 and federal energy and environmental policy; and 12
3737 WHEREAS The Energy Council plays a vital role in informing lawmakers about 13
3838 economic trends and emerging technologies in an evolving energy landscape because its 14
3939 members adeptly leverage an understanding of global trends and policies to craft effective 15

4545 WHEREAS, for five decades, The Energy Council has actively contributed to the 2

4747 and its members are highly deserving of commendation for a steadfast commitment to 4
4848 informed energy policy leadership; 5
4949 BE IT RESOLVED that the Alaska State Legislature is honored to extend its sincere 6
5050 commendations to all individuals associated with The Energy Council and offer genuine 7
5151 congratulations on the organization's 50th anniversary. 8
