| 27 | 27 | | WHEREAS The Energy Council is celebrating its 50th anniversary; and 3 |

| 28 | 28 | | WHEREAS the provision of reliable and consistent energy is critical to achieving 4 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | economic stability and ensuring global security, and a steady supply of oil and gas is 5 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | instrumental in meeting consumer demands and safeguarding energy independence; and 6 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | WHEREAS The Energy Council was established in 1975 as a nonpartisan forum for 7 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | legislators from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico to engage in 8 |

| 33 | 33 | | dialogue and to collaborate on energy policy that was pertinent to constituents; and 9 |

| 34 | 34 | | WHEREAS The Energy Council has since expanded to include 14 member states and 10 |

| 35 | 35 | | the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, thereby enriching the discourse on state 11 |
