8 SYNOPSIS: Under existing law, a county or group of
9 counties may establish a community punishment and
10 corrections authority.
11 This bill would provide that a community
12 punishment and corrections authority may establish
13 a subunit within the authority and would provide
14 for its functions.

20 Relating to community punishment and corrections
21 authorities; to provide that a community punishment and
22 corrections authority may establish a subunit within the
23 authority and provide for its responsibilities.
24 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
25 Section 1. A community punishment and corrections
26 authority, established pursuant to Section 15-18-179, Code of
27 Alabama 1975, may establish a subunit within the authority
Page 1 1 whose primary function is the apprehension or investigation of
2 criminal offenders.
3 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the
4 first day of the third month following its passage and
5 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
