2424 18 Relating to urban and rural schools; to enable a
2525 19 parent or guardian of a student at a public K-12 school to opt
2626 20 out of a requirement for that student to wear a face covering.
2727 21 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2828 22 Section 1. The parent or guardian of a student of a
2929 23 public K-12 school shall have the right to opt out of any
3030 24 order or requirement for that student to wear a face covering
3131 25 at the school, at a school function, on a school bus, or at a
3232 26 school bus stop, by communicating in writing to the school or
3333 Page 1 1 to the local board of education the parent's or guardian's
3434 2 intent to opt out of the order or requirement.
3535 3 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the
3636 4 first day of the third month following its passage and
3737 5 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
