27 | 27 | 21 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: | |
28 | 28 | 22 Section 1. The parent or guardian of a student of a | |
29 | 29 | 23 public K-12 school shall have the right to opt out of any | |
30 | 30 | 24 order or requirement for that student to wear a face covering | |
31 | 31 | 25 at the school, at a school function, on a school bus, or at a | |
32 | 32 | 26 school bus stop, by communicating in writing to the school or | |
33 | 33 | Page 1 1 to the local board of education the parent's or guardian's | |
34 | 34 | 2 intent to opt out of the order or requirement. | |
35 | 35 | 3 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the | |
36 | 36 | 4 first day of the third month following its passage and | |
37 | 37 | 5 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law. | |
