20	20	13 Relating to Madison County; to further provide for
21	21	14 the compensation, including benefits, of the Chair of the
22	22	15 Madison County Commission effective with the next term of
23	23	16 office commencing in January 2025.
24	24	17 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
25	25	18 Section 1. (a) Commencing with the term of office
26	26	19 beginning in January 2025, the Chair of the Madison County
27	27	20 Commission shall receive an annual salary of one hundred fifty
28	28	21 thousand dollars ($150,000).
29	29	22 (b) In addition to the salary provided in subsection
30	30	23 (a), the chair of the county commission shall be entitled to
31	31	24 participate in the county health insurance plan and receive
32	32	25 any other benefits to the same extent, under the same
33	33	26 conditions, in the same manner as county employees and the
34	34	27 chair of the county commission shall be entitled to receive
35	35	Page 1 1 uniform increases in compensation, such as cost-of-living
36	36	2 raises, in the same amount as uniform increases in
37	37	3 compensation granted equally to county employees by the county
38	38	4 commission.
39	39	5 Section 2. This act shall be effective on the
40	40	6 expiration of the term of the incumbent chair of the county
41	41	7 commission in January 2025.
