| 16 | | - | 9 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |

| 17 | | - | 10 Section 1. Section 45-44-247.08 of the Code of |
|---|
| 18 | | - | 11 Alabama 1975, is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 19 | | - | 12 "§45-44-247.08. |
|---|
| 20 | | - | 13 "(a) The authority of the Macon County Commission to |
|---|
| 21 | | - | 14 levy the sales and use tax authorized by this part shall |
|---|
| 22 | | - | 15 expire on January 30, 2022 July 1, 2024. This provision shall |
|---|
| 23 | | - | 16 not affect the authority of Macon County to collect any taxes |
|---|
| 24 | | - | 17 levied pursuant to this part prior to that date. |
|---|
| 25 | | - | 18 "(b) Any actions of the Macon County Commission in |
|---|
| 26 | | - | 19 the levy and collection of the sales and use tax authorized in |
|---|
| 27 | | - | 20 this part are validated, ratified, and confirmed retroactive |
|---|
| 28 | | - | 21 to January 31, 2022." |

| 29 | | - | 22 Section 2. This act shall become effective |
|---|
| 30 | | - | 23 immediately following its passage and approval by the |
|---|
| 31 | | - | 24 Governor, or its otherwise becoming law. |
