2 ENROLLED, An Act,
3 Relating to Macon County; to amend Section
4 45-44-247.08 of the Code of Alabama 1975, to extend the
5 authority of the Macon County Commission to levy a sales and
6 use tax to fund ambulance service in the county; and to
7 validate, ratify, and confirm the levy and collection of the
8 tax retroactive to January 31, 2022.
9 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
10 Section 1. Section 45-44-247.08 of the Code of
11 Alabama 1975, is amended to read as follows:
12 "ยง45-44-247.08.
13 "(a) The authority of the Macon County Commission to
14 levy the sales and use tax authorized by this part shall
15 expire on January 30, 2022 July 1, 2024. This provision shall
16 not affect the authority of Macon County to collect any taxes
17 levied pursuant to this part prior to that date.
18 "(b) Any actions of the Macon County Commission in
19 the levy and collection of the sales and use tax authorized in
20 this part are validated, ratified, and confirmed retroactive
21 to January 31, 2022."
22 Section 2. This act shall become effective
23 immediately following its passage and approval by the
24 Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
