13-6 ENROLLED, An Act,
14-7 Relating to Bullock County; to amend Section
15-8 45-6-82.21 of the Code of Alabama 1975, relating to the
16-9 operation of the office of the judge of probate; to further
17-10 provide for the special recording fee for documents or
18-11 instruments filed in the probate office and to further provide
19-12 for the tag issuance fee for motor vehicle tags issued or
20-13 renewed in the office.
21-14 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
22-15 Section 1. Section 45-6-82.21 of the Code of Alabama
23-16 1975, is amended to read as follows:
24-17 "§45-6-82.21.
25-18 "(a) This section shall apply only in Bullock
26-19 County.
27-20 "(b)(1) A special recording fee of seven dollars
28-21 ($7) ten dollars ($10) shall be charged and collected by the
29-22 judge of probate for each document or instrument recorded in
30-23 the office of the judge of probate. No document or instrument
31-24 shall be received for record in the office of the judge of
32-25 probate unless the special recording fee is paid. This fee

34-1 shall be in addition to any other fee collected by the judge
35-2 of probate.
36-3 "(2) The special recording fees collected shall be
37-4 deposited into a special account to be used by the judge of
38-5 probate for the operation of the office of the judge of
39-6 probate, including the purchase of upgrades of equipment,
40-7 including computer equipment, for operation of the recording
41-8 system, and for training of employees.
42-9 "(c) An additional tag issuance fee of four dollars
43-10 ($4) shall be charged and collected by the judge of probate
44-11 for each motor vehicle license tag issued or renewed by the
45-12 office of the judge of probate. No motor vehicle license tag
46-13 shall be issued or renewed in the office of the judge of
47-14 probate unless the tag issuance fee is paid. The additional
48-15 tag issuance fee shall be collected by the judge of probate or
49-16 his or her agents and deposited in the county general fund."
50-17 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the
51-18 first day of the third month following its passage and
52-19 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
