6 ENROLLED, An Act,
7 Relating to Bullock County; to amend Section
8 45-6-82.21 of the Code of Alabama 1975, relating to the
9 operation of the office of the judge of probate; to further
10 provide for the special recording fee for documents or
11 instruments filed in the probate office and to further provide
12 for the tag issuance fee for motor vehicle tags issued or
13 renewed in the office.
14 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
15 Section 1. Section 45-6-82.21 of the Code of Alabama
16 1975, is amended to read as follows:
17 "ยง45-6-82.21.
18 "(a) This section shall apply only in Bullock
19 County.
20 "(b)(1) A special recording fee of seven dollars
21 ($7) ten dollars ($10) shall be charged and collected by the
22 judge of probate for each document or instrument recorded in
23 the office of the judge of probate. No document or instrument
24 shall be received for record in the office of the judge of
25 probate unless the special recording fee is paid. This fee

1 shall be in addition to any other fee collected by the judge
2 of probate.
3 "(2) The special recording fees collected shall be
4 deposited into a special account to be used by the judge of
5 probate for the operation of the office of the judge of
6 probate, including the purchase of upgrades of equipment,
7 including computer equipment, for operation of the recording
8 system, and for training of employees.
9 "(c) An additional tag issuance fee of four dollars
10 ($4) shall be charged and collected by the judge of probate
11 for each motor vehicle license tag issued or renewed by the
12 office of the judge of probate. No motor vehicle license tag
13 shall be issued or renewed in the office of the judge of
14 probate unless the tag issuance fee is paid. The additional
15 tag issuance fee shall be collected by the judge of probate or
16 his or her agents and deposited in the county general fund."
17 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the
18 first day of the third month following its passage and
19 approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
