House Bill 356 as passed the House of Representatives would increase the administrative
obligations of the Alabama Peace Officers' Standards and Training Commission (APOSTC) to
require the implementation of biennial training on interacting with individuals with sensory
needs or invisible disabilities, as part of continuing education requirements for law enforcement.
This bill would require APOSTC to collaborate with a non-profit company to administer this
training and provide it at no-cost to individuals.
