	17	+	AN ACT
15	18		Relating to Marshall County; to further provide for the
16	19		residency requirement of the county engineer.
17	20		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
18	21		Section 1. Section 45-48-130 of the Code of Alabama
19	22		1975, is amended to read as follows:
20	23		"§45-48-130
21	24		The county commission shall employ a county engineer,
22	25		who shall be a thoroughly qualified and competent civil
23	26		engineer, possessing all the qualifications as specified for
24	27		county engineers under the general laws of the State of
25	28		Alabama;. and he or she The county engineer shall devote his
26	29		or her entire time and attention to the maintenance and
27	30		construction of the public roads, highways, bridges, parks,
28	31		and other public properties of Marshall County ; and shall
29	32		reside in Marshall County or a county that is adjacent to
30	33		Marshall County during his or her employment as county
31	34		engineer. Termination of the employment of the county engineer
32	35		shall only be made by an affirmative vote of four members of
33	36		the county commission at a regular session of the commission
34	37		and with the approval by a majority vote of the Marshall
35		-	County Salary Commission."
36		-	Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately
37		-	following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its
38		-	otherwise becoming law.
