BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: Section 1. Section 45-48-130 of the Code of Alabama 1975, is amended to read as follows: "ยง45-48-130 The county commission shall employ a county engineer, who shall be a thoroughly qualified and competent civil engineer, possessing all the qualifications as specified for county engineers under the general laws of the State of Alabama;. and he or she The county engineer shall devote his or her entire time and attention to the maintenance and construction of the public roads, highways, bridges, parks, and other public properties of Marshall County ; and shall reside in Marshall County or a county that is adjacent to Marshall County during his or her employment as county engineer. Termination of the employment of the county engineer shall only be made by an affirmative vote of four members of the county commission at a regular session of the commission and with the approval by a majority vote of the Marshall County Salary Commission." Section 2.
