15+TO BE ENTITLED
16+AN ACT
1517 Relating to Tallapoosa County; to establish the Lake
1618 Martin-Tallapoosa County Tourism and Visitors Bureau; to
1719 provide for the board of directors of the bureau; and to
1820 authorize the board to receive and expend funds for the
1921 promotion of tourism.
2022 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
2123 Section 1. (a) The Lake Martin-Tallapoosa County
2224 Tourism and Visitors Bureau is established in Tallapoosa
2325 County for the purpose of promoting tourism in the county.
2426 (b) The Lake Martin-Tallapoosa County Tourism and
2527 Visitors Bureau shall be managed by a board of directors
2628 composed of all of the following:
2729 (1) Two members appointed by the Tallapoosa County
2830 Commission.
2931 (2) One member of the City Council of the City of
3032 Alexander City appointed by the city council.
3133 (3) One member appointed by the Alexander City Chamber
3234 of Commerce.
3335 (4) One member to represent Wind Creek State Park
3436 appointed by the board members provided for in subdivisions
35-(1) to (3).
36-(5) One member of the Dadeville Chamber of Commerce
37-appointed by the board members provided for in subdivisions
38-(1) to (3).
39-(6) One member from the hotel and lodging community in
40-the county appointed by the board members provided for in

67+(5) One member of the Dadeville Chamber of Commerce

70+(6) One member from the hotel and lodging community in
71+the county appointed by the board members provided for in
7072 subdivisions (1) to (3).
7173 (c) The board may appoint additional advisory members
7274 as nonvoting members of the board.
7375 (d) Each board member shall serve at the pleasure of
7476 his or her appointing authority.
7577 (e) The board may receive and expend state, county,
7678 municipal, and other public funds and funds from private
7779 sources. All funds shall be expended to promote tourism in
7880 Tallapoosa County and in the Lake Martin and surrounding area.
7981 Section 2. This act shall become effective on the first
8082 day of the third month following its passage and approval by
8183 the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
