Enrolled, An Act,
Relating to Tallapoosa County; to establish the Lake
Martin-Tallapoosa County Tourism and Visitors Bureau; to
provide for the board of directors of the bureau; and to
authorize the board to receive and expend funds for the
promotion of tourism.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. (a) The Lake Martin-Tallapoosa County
Tourism and Visitors Bureau is established in Tallapoosa
County for the purpose of promoting tourism in the county.
(b) The Lake Martin-Tallapoosa County Tourism and
Visitors Bureau shall be managed by a board of directors
composed of all of the following:
(1) Two members appointed by the Tallapoosa County
Commission.
(2) One member of the City Council of the City of
Alexander City appointed by the city council.
(3) One member appointed by the Alexander City Chamber
of Commerce.
(4) One member to represent Wind Creek State Park
appointed by the board members provided for in subdivisions
(1) to (3).
(5) One member of the Dadeville Chamber of Commerce
appointed by the board members provided for in subdivisions
(1) to (3).
(6) One member from the hotel and lodging community in
the county appointed by the board members provided for in

subdivisions (1) to (3).
(c) The board may appoint additional advisory members
as nonvoting members of the board.
(d) Each board member shall serve at the pleasure of
his or her appointing authority.
(e) The board may receive and expend state, county,
municipal, and other public funds and funds from private
sources. All funds shall be expended to promote tourism in
Tallapoosa County and in the Lake Martin and surrounding area.
Section 2. This act shall become effective on the first
day of the third month following its passage and approval by
the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
