21 | 20 | | WHEREAS, his passing leaves a void in the lives of |

22 | 21 | | his loving family, many friends, and the entire community |

23 | 22 | | where he was highly regarded; and |

24 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson was born on March 22, 1950, in |

25 | 24 | | Dawson, Alabama; he was the youngest of three children born |
---|
26 | 25 | | to Thelma Inez Lawson and Horace Clay Robinson; and |
---|
27 | 26 | | WHEREAS, a 1968 graduate of Geraldine High School, he |
---|
28 | 27 | | was the youngest Deputy Sheriff in DeKalb County at age 16; |
---|
29 | 28 | | he attended Jacksonville State University and earned a |
---|
30 | 29 | | Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 1971; and |
---|
31 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Robinson attended the Birmingham School |
---|
32 | 31 | | of Law and graduated in 1984, while working full time at the |
---|
33 | 32 | | District Attorney's office; and he was elected to the |
---|
34 | 33 | | Alabama State Legislature in 1994 where he served until 2014 |
---|
35 | 34 | | before retiring from public service; and |
---|
36 | 35 | | WHEREAS, he formally exonerated the wrongly accused |
---|
37 | 36 | | Scottsboro Boys, recruited U.S. Gypsum to Bridgeport, |
---|
38 | 37 | | established the Senior Rx program, sponsored the bill that |
---|
39 | 38 | | created the James Martin Wildlife area and co-sponsored the |
---|

78 | 77 | | WHEREAS, survivors include his son, Lawson Robinson; |

79 | 78 | | sister, Annette Robinson and niece, Amy Robinson; and a host |

80 | 79 | | of other relatives and friends; and |

81 | 80 | | WHEREAS, although his presence will be greatly |

82 | 81 | | missed, the memory of Mr. Robinson will be cherished in the |

83 | 82 | | hearts of all who knew and loved him; now therefore; |
