A BILL
TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Relating to Jefferson County; to further provide for
the annual salary of the county tax assessor and tax
collector.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
Section 1. Effective immediately, in Jefferson County
the annual salary for the Tax Assessor and the Tax Collector
shall be an amount that is the greater of the following:
(1) Ten percent above the highest annual salary for a
merit system employee in the Tax Assessor's or Tax Collector's
respective office.
(2) The annual salary for the Tax Assessor or the Tax
Collector as otherwise provided by law.
Section 2. This act shall become effective immediately
following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its
otherwise becoming law.
