14	13		SJR___ HONORING THE PRATTVILLE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ON
15	14		ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY.
16	15		WHEREAS, with great pride and special pleasure, we
17	16		highly honor the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce on the
18	17		occasion of its milestone 50th Anniversary; and
19	18		WHEREAS, the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce's
20	19		mission is to strengthen the business environment and
21	20		promote a high quality of life for the community; the
22	21		Chamber works diligently by observing the core values of
23	22		helping businesses grow and prosper, encouraging orderly
24	23		expansion and development of all segments of business,
25	24		contributing to the overall economic stability of the
26	25		community, and promoting the nation's private enterprise
27	26		system of competitive marketing; and
28	27		WHEREAS, when the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce
29	28		began in 1973, there were only 74 members, and now in 2023,
30	29		the Chamber has nearly 700 members, as well as a Board of
31	30		Directors comprised of 21 business and community leaders;
32	31		during the last 50 years, the Prattville Area Chamber of
33	32		Commerce has been instrumental in economic development
34	33		efforts, creating thousands of jobs from recruitment of

61	60		business and industry; the Chamber has recruited major
62	61		industries over the years, such as James Hardie most
63	62		recently; the Chamber also recruited and successfully landed
64	63		the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill, which now
65	64		has over 80,000 rounds of golf at the facility every year;
66	65		and
67	66		WHEREAS, some of the Prattville Area Chamber of
68	67		Commerce's other achievements include hosting its Farm City
69	68		Banquet to celebrate the economic impact of agriculture in
70	69		Autauga County and to honor the achievements of farmers;
71	70		championing education as the most powerful investment in
72	71		people's lives and increasing educational opportunities that
73	72		lead to greater prosperity and improve future economic
74	73		development; and supporting a large military population from
75	74		the area's military bases through the Chamber's Military
76	75		Affairs Committee, whose mission is to highlight and promote
77	76		the Prattville and Autauga area as a friendly community that
78	77		is open to serve those in the military and their families;
79	78		and
80	79		WHEREAS, the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce
81	80		continues to be a champion for business and industry,
82	81		military, education, economic development, workforce
83	82		development, and tourism, we well as continues to diligently
84	83		help provide a sustainable business community, build a
85	84		healthy economy, and foster growth and positive change while

114	113		BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
115	114		HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Prattville Area Chamber
116	115		of Commerce is highly honored on its milestone 50th
117	116		Anniversary, and we hereby dedicate this resolution to the
118	117		Chamber with utmost appreciation, admiration, and regard.
