Enrolled, An Act,
SJR___ HONORING THE PRATTVILLE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ON
ITS 50TH ANNIVERSARY.
WHEREAS, with great pride and special pleasure, we
highly honor the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce on the
occasion of its milestone 50th Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce's
mission is to strengthen the business environment and
promote a high quality of life for the community; the
Chamber works diligently by observing the core values of
helping businesses grow and prosper, encouraging orderly
expansion and development of all segments of business,
contributing to the overall economic stability of the
community, and promoting the nation's private enterprise
system of competitive marketing; and
WHEREAS, when the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce
began in 1973, there were only 74 members, and now in 2023,
the Chamber has nearly 700 members, as well as a Board of
Directors comprised of 21 business and community leaders;
during the last 50 years, the Prattville Area Chamber of
Commerce has been instrumental in economic development
efforts, creating thousands of jobs from recruitment of

business and industry; the Chamber has recruited major
industries over the years, such as James Hardie most
recently; the Chamber also recruited and successfully landed
the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill, which now
has over 80,000 rounds of golf at the facility every year;
and
WHEREAS, some of the Prattville Area Chamber of
Commerce's other achievements include hosting its Farm City
Banquet to celebrate the economic impact of agriculture in
Autauga County and to honor the achievements of farmers;
championing education as the most powerful investment in
people's lives and increasing educational opportunities that
lead to greater prosperity and improve future economic
development; and supporting a large military population from
the area's military bases through the Chamber's Military
Affairs Committee, whose mission is to highlight and promote
the Prattville and Autauga area as a friendly community that
is open to serve those in the military and their families;
and
WHEREAS, the Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce
continues to be a champion for business and industry,
military, education, economic development, workforce
development, and tourism, we well as continues to diligently
help provide a sustainable business community, build a
healthy economy, and foster growth and positive change while

improving the community's vitality and quality of life; now
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the Prattville Area Chamber
of Commerce is highly honored on its milestone 50th
Anniversary, and we hereby dedicate this resolution to the
Chamber with utmost appreciation, admiration, and regard.
