PATRICIA CAMP FAULKNER. WHEREAS, it is with profound sorrow that we note the death on December 9, 2022, of Mrs. Patricia Camp "Patty" Faulkner at the age of 88; and WHEREAS, her passing leaves a void in the lives of her loving family, many friends, and the entire community, where she was highly regarded; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Faulkner was born on August 14, 1935, to Mildred Tillman Camp and Ehney Addison Camp, Jr.; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Faulkner attended Mountain Brook Elementary School and Shades Valley High School; she earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and a Bachelor of Science Degree from The University of Alabama, where she was a member of Tri Delta Sorority; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Faulkner served as President of the Women's Alabama Golf Association; served on the United States Golf Association Women's Regional Affairs Committee for 10 years; was a founding member of the Southeastern Women's Amateur Team Championship and captained Alabama's first team at that championship; started the Riviera Beach 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 SJR17 EnrolledSJR17 Enrolled Page 2 and Golf Classic with her husband; built a home in Cashiers, North Carolina, with her husband; and was involved with her husband in many activities in which their children participated; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Faulkner was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church and later attended Canterbury United Methodist Church; was a longtime member of the Old Elyton Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution and The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America; and was a member of Little Club, Carousels, and Maskers Dance Club; she was a golf enthusiast and played for many years at the Country Club of Birmingham, Mountain Brook Club, Shoal Creek, and numerous other clubs around the state; furthermore, she loved spending time with her family and friends and attending parties; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Faulkner was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, David Lawrence "Larry" Faulkner; she is survived by her children, Genie Stutts (Phil), Tricia Drew (Mark), Laurie Hereford (Will), and David Faulkner, Jr. (Nancy); grandchildren, Mallie Drew Taylor (Gifford), Mark Drew, Jr. (Meagan), Madelyn Hereford Ash (Sam), Phillip Stutts (Lyndsey), Billy Hereford (Sarah), Patricia Stutts Harper (Morgan), Caroline Drew Mann (Stephen), Faulkner Hereford, Patrick Hereford (Lindley), Tillman Drew, Mac Hereford, Emmie Stutts, David Faulkner III, Wilson Faulkner, 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 48 49 50 SJR17 EnrolledSJR17 Enrolled Page 3 and Elizabeth Faulkner; great-grandchildren, Ellison Taylor, Mark Drew III, Taz Taylor, Camp Hereford, Daniel Mann, Selden Taylor, Garland Drew, and Gil Stutts; sister, Mary Gene Boulware (Thomas); brother, Ehney Camp III (Pat); and a host of nieces and nephews; and WHEREAS, although her presence will be greatly missed, the memory of Mrs. Faulkner will be cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That the death of Mrs. Patricia Camp "Patty" Faulkner is recorded with deep sadness, and this resolution is offered in tribute to her life, along with heartfelt sympathy to her family, whose grief is shared by many. 51 52 53 54 55 56 57 58 59 60 61 62 63 64 SJR17 EnrolledSJR17 Enrolled Page 4 ________________________________________________ President and Presiding Officer of the Senate ________________________________________________ Speaker of the House of Representatives SJR17 Senate I hereby certify that the within Act originated in and passed the Senate.
