15	15	SYNOPSIS:
16	16	This bill would exempt the Birmingham Host
17	17	Committee 2025 World Police and Fire Games from all
18	18	state, county, and municipal sales, use, license, and
19	19	ad valorem taxes.

21	21	TO BE ENTITLED
22	22	AN ACT
23	23	To add Section 40-9-26.4 to the Code of Alabama 1975,
24	24	to provide an exemption to the Birmingham Host Committee 2025
25	25	World Police and Fire Games from the payment and collection of
26	26	all state, county, and municipal sales, use, license, and ad
27	27	valorem taxes; and to provide for an expiration of the
28	28	exemptions provided by this act.
29	29	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA:
30	30	Section 1. Section 40-9-26.4 is added to the Code of
31	31	Alabama 1975, to read as follows:
32	32	§40-9-26.4
33	33	The Birmingham Host Committee 2025 World Police and
34	34	Fire Games, an Alabama nonprofit corporation, is exempted from
35	35	paying or collecting any state, county, and municipal sales,
36	36	use, and license taxes with respect to the 2025 World Police

66	66	use, and license taxes with respect to the 2025 World Police
67	67	and Fire Games event to be conducted by the Birmingham Host
68	68	Committee 2025 World Police and Fire Games in Alabama,
69	69	including, without limitations, taxes with respect to the
70	70	purchase or use of property by the Birmingham Host Committee
71	71	2025 World Police and Fire Games and the gross proceeds from
72	72	the sale or use of property by the Birmingham Host Committee
73	73	2025 World Police and Fire Games or admissions to the 2025
74	74	World Police and Fire Games event. All property owned by the
75	75	Birmingham Host Committee 2025 World Police and Fire Games and
76	76	used for the 2025 World Police and Fire Games event is
77	77	exempted from all state, county, and local ad valorem taxes.
78	78	The exemptions provided in this act shall expire on December
79	79	31 of the year following the year the 2025 World Police and
80	80	Fire Games event has concluded.
81	81	Section 2. This act shall become effective June 1,
82	82	2024.
