| 21 | 21 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA: |

| 22 | 22 | | Section 1. Section 45-2-230.03, Code of Alabama 1975, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | is amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | "ยง45-2-230.03 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (a) Commencing on March 28, 2022June 1, 2024, the |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Sheriff of Baldwin County shall receive an additional expense |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | allowance in an amount so that the total compensation of the |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | sheriff is one hundred thirty thousand dollars ($130,000) one |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) per year. This |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | expense allowance shall be payable in equal monthly |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | installments from the general fund of the county. |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (b) Commencing with the next term of office of the |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | Sheriff of Baldwin County beginning after June 1, 2024 , the |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | sheriff shall receive an annual salary of one hundred thirty |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | thousand dollars ($130,000) one hundred fifty thousand dollars |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | ($150,000) in lieu of any and all compensation now provided by |
|---|

| 74 | 74 | | disbursed to the sheriff as an expense allowance until the end |

| 75 | 75 | | of that term of office as sheriff, at which time the increase |
|---|
